Point Park "receiving votes" in NAIA Top 25 (March 9)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Point Park University is "receiving votes" in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll that was released on Wednesday, March 9. The Pioneers were 9-4, 3-0 RSC at the time of the poll.

Point Park was riding a streak of eight wins in a span of nine games entering the voting for this poll. This is the first Top 25 poll of the regular season. The Pioneers were ranked No. 25 in the preseason poll that came out Nov. 3.

The Pioneers are rated as the No. 34 overall team in the country. After the first three weeks of the season, the Pioneers are hitting a winning stride. There was a 5-1 swing through Florida on the second weekend of the season. The Pioneers opened up RSC play with a sweep at Brescia (Ky.) last week, a series in which Point Park outscored the Bearcats, 37-10.

The poll was voted on by NAIA representative coaches from around the country. There are two RSC teams mentioned in this week's poll with IU Southeast coming in at No. 18 after being No. 7 in the preseason. The next Top 25 poll will be in two weeks with a release on March 23.
