Box Score

PITTSBURGH -- A New Era begins with the start of the 2022 season. And thus, now introduced is the official Point Park University Soccer Crest -- the badge that will reprsent Pioneers men's and women's soccer into the future.

The Point Park University Soccer Crest encapsulates the history of the university, the athletic department and the City of Pittsburgh, and it propels the soccer program into the new era.

Point Park men's soccer first-year head coach Cameron Williams ushered in the creation of the crest. The badge gives the men's and women's soccer programs something to rally around as a new culture is established while at the same time embracing the history of Point Park soccer's place at the university and in the City of Pittsburgh.

Each part of the crest represents something specific. The Bison mascot has represented Pioneers teams since teh 1970s. The Shield shape is inspired by the official university seal of the same layout. The 1960 designation refers to the year the university was established, and below that is a reference to Fort Duquesne at Point State Park, the latter of which where the university derives its name.

There are several elements that represent the City of Pittsburgh, the place where the Pioneers call home in their Downtown campus. Known as the City of Bridges, a bridge is prominent in the background. The City Skyline at the top depicts iconic Pittsburgh buildings. The Three Rivers represent the meeting of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers to form the Ohio River right at Point State Park, just a few blocks from campus. The checkered pattern on the sides represents a signature element in the official seal of the City of Pittsburgh.

The crest will be worn on the soccer uniforms, and it will be placed on associated gear used by the program. The badge also becomes the primary mark to identify Point Park soccer. A unique identifier crest goes in line with traditions around the world specific to the game of soccer.

Point Park soccer retians the primary colors of green and gold as such with the Point Park Pioneers logo that represents the athletic department and teams as a whole.
