PITTSBURGH – Point Park University's League of Legends team defeated the University of Montreal on Saturday, February 11. The Pioneers won 2-0 in their third game of the season, making them 1-2 on the season.
Point Park came out flying against the Carabins, with jungler Ra1tz (Lucas Murphy) finding the first blood in the first 2:40 and running away with the kills quickly. The Pioneers picked up the first seven kills of the match before Montreal was able to respond, but the dives from Point Park pestered the opponents throughout the entire match. Collecting all but one of objectives, the Pioneers powered their way through to a quick first round victory with 15-6 in kills. Ra1tz dominated game one, going 8-1-4 with Elise while collecting 10,509 gold.
Game two was a slower, closer affair, as the Carabins slowed the pace. This didn't stop the Pioneers from drawing first blood once again, while continuing to stay ahead in the objective and kill race. The aggression continued to pay off for Point Park, as the dives and team fights continued to fall in their favor as the Pioneers swarmed Montreal's spawn, coming away with the 21-7 victory. Top laner Kaqeed (Kai Gorzelsky) went 6-1-4 with Tryndamere, while piling up 12,393 gold in the win.
League of Legends next game is scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday, Feb.18, as they'll take on Brown University. You can check updates on the team's schedule and play at PointParkSports.com, or can watch the streams on twitch at PointPark_Esports.
