Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

TOLEDO, Ohio -- (RV) Point Park University baseball hit 10 home runs in a doubleheader sweep at Lourdes (Ohio) University on Tuesday. The Pioneers won by scores of 11-7 and 20-4 to improve their record to 19-8 overall. Point Park stayed hot and has now won 13 of its past 14 games.

Point Park hit four homers in the first game and continued the bashing with six more in the nightcap. Cole Wajda led the barrage with four home runs on the day, three of which came in the 20-4 win. Luis Gonzalez went deep three times with two of them coming in the opener.

Wajda's big day had him go 4 for 7 with those four homers and 11 RBIs. Gonzalez was 6 for 9 on the day with six RBIs along with his three bombs.

The Pioneers got out to leads of 10-2 in the first game and 12-0 in the second game. The 32 runs and 33 hits in the doubleheader were more than enough for the seven pitchers who worked throughout the day.

GAME 1 -- POINT PARK 11, LOURDES 7

Point Park's offense was there from the start with Crixtian Taveras going deep as the second batter of the game. The Pioneers blew the game open with seven runs in the third inning, capped off by Cole Wajda's three-run homer. That followed RBI hits by Luis Gonzalez's and Michali Brito, the latter of which drove in two.

In the fifth, Gonzalez sent a solo shot over the fence, and when Jared Campbell doubled to drive in another, and it was 10-2. Gonzalez delivered his second homer of the game for an 11-5 lead in the seventh.

Lourdes got as close as 11-7 with some late offense but ran out of steam. The Gray Wolves had five of their 10 hits the last two innings.

Point Park starter Logan Creamer went the first 3.0 innings giving up no earned runs and four hits. He struck out four, walked none and earned the win on a staff day. Kenneth Rolon pitched the fourth and fifth innings scoreless on two hits followed by Joey Tedesco for the sixth and seventh.

Gonzalez was a perfect 3 for 3 with three runs and two walks. Jared Campbell had two hits, and Taveras scored three runs as other offensive highlights.

GAME 2 -- POINT PARK 20, LOURDES 4

The Pioneers scored 12 runs their first three times at bat and scored six in the top of the seventh to reach 20 runs. The Pioneers totaled 21 hits with 11 different players registering in the hit column.

The biggest hits came from Wajda, who drove in 11 with his three home runs. He also walked twice in the game, one of which came with the bases loaded. When Lourdes did pitch to him, Wajda went deep in the second and fifth for a pair of two-run shots and in the seventh for a three-run job.

It was another early offense game with Isaac Santana smashing a solo homer in the top of the first and Jordon Campbell doing in the same in the second. For Santana, it was his 10th homer of the year. He was 3 for 4 with four RBIs to give him 41 RBIs on the year, which ranks Top 20 in the NAIA.

Gonzalez stroked another three hits, and his two-run homer in the third inning made the score 11-0. Taveras drove in a run with a base hit three batters later, one of his two hits in the game.

Omar Morillo was 3 for 6 to join three of his teammates with three-hit games. Chris Williams and Jean Santos scored three runs apiece while Carlos Martinez was 2 for 4 with an RBI double.

Point Park used four pitchers in the nightcap with Ethan Van Scoy credited with the win in the first 3.2 innings. He worked into the fourth with four strikeouts and a walk.
