Point Park Welcomes Concord to Pittsburgh on Wednesday

PITTSBURGH- The Point Park men's soccer team returns home for a Wednesday afternoon matchup against Concord at Highmark Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 in Pittsburgh.

Storylines
  • Following a 1-1 draw at West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon, Point Park sits at 5-5-1 overall and 5-3-1- in league play coming into Wednesday's matchup against the Mountain Lions.
  • Against the Bobcats on Wednesday, Point Park's Ido Chalamish tied up the match in the 60th minute with his third goal of the season. In the match, Point Park outshot West Virginia Wesleyan 14-11 and held a slight 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
  • In last year's matchups against Concord, Point Park fell 2-1 in both contests. The Pioneers opened up MEC play for the first time ever against the Bobcats in Pittsburgh with Cheroky Briard erasing the shutout in the 89th minute with his second goal of the 2024 season.
  • In MEC standings, the Pioneers currently sit in fourth place through nine conference games. Point Park currently has 16 points with their 5-3-1 league record, trailing Davis & Elkins, Concord, and first-place Charleston.
  • Captain Fridolin Gefrorer continues to lead the Pioneers as Gefrorer has recorded eight points on the season with a team leading four goals. Chalamish is right behind Gefrorer with seven points coming from three goals and one assist.
