PITTSBURGH – Concord picked up a 2-0 victory over Point Park on Wednesday evening at Highmark Stadium, earning the season sweep over the Pioneers during the 2025 campaign.
With the win, Concord improves to 9-3 overall and 7-3 in league play. Point Park moves to 5-6-1 overall and 5-4-1 in MEC play.
Concord's Dominique Malhomme scored his fourth goal of the season to give the Mountain Lions an early 1-0 advantage in the 36
th minute. The Mountain Lions added an insurance goal in the 80
th minute as Adam Leibowitz found the back of the net to wrap up the scoring.
Statistically, Concord held a 22-7 advantage in total shots, including 7-0 mark in shots on goal. Concord also held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Point Park had three players with two shots in the game, including
Ido Chalamish,
Guilherme Galvao and
Lorenzo Grispello.
Gregorio Capponi made the start in the Point Park goal and recorded five saves while giving up two goals.
Concord Goalkeeper Nathan Scargill earned the shutout in the Concord goal, facing just seven off-target shots in the win.
The Pioneers will remain at home this Sunday to face Wheeling University at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
