PITTSBURGH – After playing its first road game of the season on Wednesday evening, Point Park men's soccer returns home to host Davis & Elkins in Mountain East Conference play on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 in the afternoon.

Since joining the MEC in 2024, Point Park is 1-2-1 in games against Davis & Elkins, with the win coming on Oct. 2, 2024 - a 2-0 win at then Highmark Stadium.
 
Point Park's two-game winning streak was snapped on Wednesday with West Liberty edging the Pioneers by a 3-2 final. Hector Moreno and Lander Barrio Gonzalez netted goals for the Pioneers on Wednesday night.
 
Point Park's previous two-game winning streak included wins over Thomas More (1-0) and Wheeling (2-1), both at F.N.B. Stadium.
 
Moreno netted his first goal of the season in the 20^th minute against Thomas More, a goal that led to Point Park's first win of the season. Anthony Fusay recorded a clean-sheet for the Pioneers in goal against Thomas More – recording three saves in the strong defensive performance for PPU.
 
In last Sunday's MEC opener, Point Park erased an early 1-0 deficit to pick up a 2-1 victory late. Wheeling took the lead in the 30^th minute and held the advantage for 20 minutes. In the 50^th minute, Rocco Domenighini used an assist from Joel Gomez to knot the game at a goal apiece.
 
Then, with 13 seconds remaining, Gomez scored from the left of the box to give the Pioneers the late win.
 
Following Saturday's matchup, Point Park remains in Pittsburgh for two more games next week, beginning Wednesday evening against Cal (PA) at FNB Stadium. Wednesday's kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
 
Next Sunday's (Sept. 20) home match against Frostburg State will be played at Duquesne's Rooney Field across town. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
