PITTSBURGH – Carnegie Mellon defeated Point Park by set scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-19 on Tuesday evening to earn its 20
th win of the 2025 season. Following the non-conference match, Point Park's record fell to 3-16 on the season.
CMU hit .333 in the match with just 10 errors. The Tartans also held a 43-29 advantage in kills, a 7-2 advantage in blocks, and a 7-6 edge in aces.
Point Park finished the match hitting .106, recording 29 kills compared to 18 errors.
Alex Koontz led Point Park with 10 kills, nine digs and a block in the match.

Avery Budrys Rini chipped in four kills apiece.
Marianna Oyola-Rivera recorded a double-double with 17 assists and 13 digs.
Katherine Jackson led CMU on the evening with 10 kills, 16 digs and four aces. Kate Giang chipped in eight kills. Neha Tummala paced the CMU attack with 19 assists.
Point Park returns to conference play Friday evening at the University of Charleston. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
