CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Point Park dropped a 3-0 match to MEC-south leading Charleston (25-22, 25-19, 25-18) on Friday evening in volleyball action at the Wehrle Innovation Center.
Charleston hit .203 in the match with a 42-31 advantage in kills, a 7-2 advantage in aces, and a 7-4 edge in blocks. UC also held a 66-55 advantage in digs.
Point Park hit .122 in the setback.
Avery Budrys Rini led the Pioneers with 11 kills in the match.
Nicole Reasbeck chipped in seven kills. From her setter position,
Marianna Oyola-Rivera recorded a team-high in assists (23) and digs (13).
Marcella Erichsen also reached double-figures with 10 digs.
Divine Muo and Patrycja Majos led the UC attack with nine kills apiece, while Sophia Knowles chipped in seven kills. Chloe Fortner recorded 22 digs for the Golden Eagles.
Point Park will remain on the road to take on West Virginia State on Saturday evening in Institute. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
