BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Point Park men's soccer placed three student-athletes on the All-MEC teams on Friday morning, when the league announced its yearly award winners and all-conference teams.
Fridolin Gefrorer highlighted Point Park's selections as a first team forward. Midfielders
Giovanni Pezzi and
Guy Lehrer were each named to the All-MEC second team.
Gefrorer, a graduate student from Berlin, Germany, led the Pioneers in goals (5) and points (12) this fall. He placed 12 of his 21 shots on-target this season and also finished the year 1-for-1 on penalty kicks. He made 18 starts as a team captain for Point Park this season.
Pezzi, a graduate student from Italy, finished the season with three goals and two assists, recording eight points this season. He had one game-winner this season. He played in 14 games while making 12 starts.
Lehrer, a junior from Tel Aviv, Israel, found the back of the net twice this season while also recording two assists (six points). Both of his goals were game-winners, and he also went 1-for-1 on PK attempts. Twelve of his 22 shots were on-target this season.
