PITTSBURGH – The Point Park men's wrestling team will compete in its first-ever dual meet competitions on Friday night at Fairmont State's Joe Retton Arena.
The competition will get underway with host Fairmont State taking on Point Park at 6 p.m., followed by a neutral contest between Point Park and Wheeling at 7 p.m.
Point Park has competed in three invitational style competitions to begin the season, with its last outing coming on Nov. 15 at the Shorty Hitchcock Invitational hosted by Millersville University.
In Point Park last outing,
Aiden Burford led the Pioneers with a 2-2 record at Millersville. Burford won by fall in the round of 64, before picking up a 13-2 major decision in the round of 32. Additionally,
Jacob Kehrer won by fall in the round of 64 of the 157-weight class.
Buford also finished fifth at the Bob Del Rosa Ohio Open, while taking seventh at the Mount Union Invitational. To open the season at the Mount Union Invitational, Point Park's
Liam Hein took fifth place at 149 pounds. Hein went 4-2 at the season opening event, winning three bouts by fall and one by decision.
