GENEVA, Ohio – The Point Park women's track and field team turned in five Top 10 finishes at Saturday's Spire Collegiate Indoor Games in Geneva, Ohio.
Dunya Van den Tooren turned in the top finish for PPU, taking fifth in the high jump at 1.65m. Van den Tooren also took 16
th in the long jump with a mark of 5.09. She now ranks fourth in school history in the long jump.
A pair of PPU athletes also turned in sixth-place finishes, with
Cassondra O'Connor in the mile (5:16.84) and
Allison Plassio in the 3000m (10:20.46). O'Connor ranks fifth in PPU history in the mile, while Plassio is fourth in the 3000m.
Jana Schmid also had a standout performance in the 3000m, finishing 10
th with a time of 10:27.91 (currently ranks 5
th in school history).
Additionally,
Emma Roemer recorded a Top 10 finish in the 60m hurdles, finishing eighth with a time of 9.44.
Point Park will now prepare for its first-ever Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship, which is set for next Sunday and Monday (Feb. 23-24) in Huntington, West Virginia.
