STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Point Park women's track and field team broke a school record and had six marks that ranked among the top five in school history during Saturday's Sykes and Sabock Invitational hosted by Penn State University.
Diamond Rush headlined Point Park's performance by improving her school record time in the 200m with a 25.35, breaking her previous mark of 25.42. Rush also finished 21
st in the 60m with a time of 8.01 on Saturday.
In the women's high jump,
Dunya Van den Tooren finished fifth in the event at 1.68m, a mark that ranks second in school history. Van den Tooren's mark hit an NCAA and ECAC qualifying standard. The Pioneers also turned in the second-fastest time in school history in Saturday's 4x400 relay at 4:02.78. Point Park's 4x400 relay team included Rush,
Paige Marnell,
Casey Colcombe and
Mya Greschner.
The Pioneers also had three individuals that had times that ranked third in school history on Saturday. The performances included
Allison Plassio in the mile (5:12.91),
Jana Schmid in the 800m (2:19.87) and
Cassondra O'Connor in the 3000m (10:04.86).
Next Saturday, Point Park will travel to Geneva, Ohio for the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games. The Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship is set for Feb. 23-24 at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
