FROSTBURG, Md. – The Point Park Softball team traveled to Frostburg State to take on the Bobcats for a Mountain East Conference doubleheader where the Pioneers earned a split to move to 4-4 in MEC play.
Game 1
Point Park and Frostburg State battled it out for 10 innings but ultimately a sacrifice fly by Hanna Binek in the bottom of the 10
th inning to score Sage Haller gave the Bobcats the 3-2 extra innings win over the Pioneers.
Gianna Welsh started the scoring for the Pioneers in the top of the second as Welsh doubled to right center scoring

Frostburg State answered right back in the bottom of the second with a triple by Zoey Marinello that plated Hanna Binek, tying the game at 1-1.
Each team scored another run in the third inning as
Julia Hill scored on a pass ball for the Pioneers while Samara Funk doubled to left center scoring Arden Miller for the Bobcats.
The game was held scoreless through the next six innings until Frostburg plated the game winning run in the bottom of the 10
th to upend Point Park 3-2.
Jaylyn Mullenax went 9.2 inning for Point Park giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits. Mullenax walked five and struck out eight.
Emma Henry led Point Park's offense going 2-3 in game one.
Mia Arndt and Welsh had the remaining hits for the Pioneers.
Game 2
Point Park's offense exploded in game two as the Pioneers beat Frostburg State 8-3 at Bobcat Field.
The Pioneers put up three runs to begin the contest as
Emma Henry hit a rbi single to score
Remington Koi.
Gianna Welsh them came through with a two-run homerun to score Henry, putting the Pioneers out front 3-0.
Frostburg State got on the board in the bottom of the first as Samara Funk singled scoring Gracie Nelson, cutting Point Park's lead down to two.
Point Park put another three spot in the fourth inning as
Jana Hess started off the scoring reaching home on a wild pitch. A groundout by
Payton Haller scored
Kaylee Fabiano to put the Pioneers up 5-1. With bases loaded
Mia Arndt drew a walk scoring
Julia Hill to round out the scoring in the fourth.
Frostburg put up two more runs in the sixth to make it 6-3 going into the seventh inning.
The Pioneers added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh as Arndt scored on a Welsh groundout to second. Henry then got the game's final run as she scored on a wild pitch to put Point Park up 8-3.
Savannah Lee (3-6) got the win, throwing a complete game for the Pioneers. Lee gave up three runs on 11 hits while striking out seven.
Mia Arndt led the Point Park offense going 3-3 with one run and one RBI while
Gianna Welsh went 1-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.
Emma Henry contributed with two hits, two runs, and one RBI.

Point Park will return to Fairhaven Park on Wednesday March 26 as the Pioneers will host non-conference opponent Salem for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
