AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Point Park baseball is heading back on the road with a trip to Florida for the RussMatt Baseball Invitational from March 7 through March 10 in Auburndale.
Point Park will open up the invitational with a doubleheader against Wayne State (Mich.) at the Lake Myrtle Complex on Friday March 7. The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on the main field of the Lake Myrtle Complex.

Point Park Baseball Notebook
- Point Park will go to Florida on a three-game win streak as the Pioneers have started the 2025 campaign at 6-1 overall. Point Park started the season with a three-game series in Kingsport, Tennessee beating Bluefield State 14-2 and sweeping West Virginia Tech 9-0 and 6-3.
- The Pioneers traveled to Cary, North Carolina for the DII Round Robin at USA Baseball Complex from February 28 through March 2 where Point Park went 3-1 on the weekend.
- As a team the Pioneers are hitting .317 with Crixtian Taveras leading the Pioneers with a .464 batting average to start the year. In 28 at-bats Taveras has 13 hits including seven doubles, and had drove in seven runs.
- Jared Campbell is also hitting above .400 to start the year as Campbell is hitting .417 through seven games. In 24 at-bats Campbell has driven in 15 runs on 10 hits. Campbell has three doubles and two homeruns to start the year.
- The Point Park pitching staff currently has a 3.86 ERA through the first seven games of the season. Ramon Rodriguez (2-0) leads the Pioneers with a 0.00 ERA through his first two appearances. In 11.0 innings of work Ramon has allowed only three hits and one unearned run while picking up 11 strikeouts.
- Ethan Parker begins his year at 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA in 4 appearances. In 10.0 innings on the mound Parker has allowed only one run and five hits.
