BOSTON – The Point Park men's and women's indoor track & field teams set three school records and turned in six Top 10 finishes on Saturday during day two of the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships.
After Saturday's events, Point Park ranks fifth on the women's leaderboard and sixth on the men's leaderboard.
Point Park's record performances included
Cassondra O'Connor 5000m (17:11.96),
Diamond Rush in the 200m (24.96), and
Jannik Windelband in the 1000m (2:27.83). O'Connor took fourth in the 5000m, while Rush finished 15
th in the 200m.
Windelband finished ninth in the 1000m and qualified for Sunday's final in the event.
In addition to O'Connor's fourth place finish in the 5000m (17:11.96),
Maxwell Goode took second (7.00m) in the men' long jump, while
Akeem Mustapha took fourth (6.94m) in the event. In the women's high jump,
Dunya Van den Tooren took third (1.68m).
Mya Greschner rounded out the top five performances for Point Park with a mark of 5.44m in the long jump.
Additionally, Mustapha turned in his second top 10 finish of the championship event by finishing eighth in the men's high jump (1.93m).
In prelim qualifying events,
Kamar Sutherland turned in the top time with an 8.29 in the men's 60m hurdles. Sutherland joined Windelband (1000m) as a Sunday final's qualifier.
In the men's 60m, Mustapha tuned in a time of 7.02 in the prelims and 7.01 in the semifinals.
Juan Barrera clocked a 7.11 in the prelims and a 7.08 in the semifinals. The duo did not qualify for Sunday's finals in the event.
Competition at the IC4A/ECAC Championships will wrap up on Sunday in Boston.
