Rush, Mustapha Lead Point Park at Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Point Park men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday, as the Pioneers had student-athlete competing in 14 different events.
 
Diamond Rush headlined the day with a school record performance in the 100m. She turned in a time of 12.09 to take down her current record in the event. Rush also finished sixth in the 200m (24.55), finishing just below the school record time of 24.45, while also finishing 32nd in the 400m with a time of 59.00.
 
Emma Roemer placed 22nd in Sunday's 100m hurdles event, while Dunya Van den Tooren took 43rd place in the 400m hurdles. Van den Tooren now ranks fourth in school history in the event.
 
In men's events, Akeem Mustapha turned in Point Park's top performance of the day with an eighth-place finish in the high jump (1.88). The Top 10 finish on Sunday adds to his impressive weekend, after also achieving an NCAA provisional mark on the long jump on Saturday.
 
Kamar Sutherland also had an impressive mark in the 110m hurdles event (14.80) on Sunday.
 
Point Park will have one more chance to compete prior to the Mountain East Conference Outdoor Championships, as the Pioneers will return to action next Friday at the Benson/Hodge Memorial Invitational in Pittsburgh. The event will take place at the P3R Track & Field Complex.
