ELKINS, W.Va. – Point Park traveled down to Davis & Elkins for a single seven-inning game which saw the Pioneers fall to the senators in five innings. This matchup was a makeup game for the contest that was postponed back on March 30 due to inclement weather.
Davis & Elkins had a big first inning putting up three runs before the Pioneers were able to get on the board in the top of the fourth as
Melanie Taylor scored on a
Mia Arndt fielder's choice to cut the lead down to two.
That was all Point Park was able to get before the Senator offense exploded for one run in the fourth and five in the bottom of the seventh to enact the mercy rule, giving the senators the 9-1 win.
Gia Labrie had the only hit for Point Park with a single to right center in the top of the fifth.
Alyssa Wahl was tagged with the loss to fall to 2-2 on the season.

Point Park will return home to Pittsburgh with a 13-21 overall record and a 7-11 conference record to face off with MEC North Division leader Fairmont State (13-5 in MEC play) with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at Fairhaven Park.
