PITTSBURGH – The Point Park University Department of Athletics was well represented at Thursday's Outstanding Student Awards Ceremony.
The annual event was hosted at the Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel on Thursday and served as an evening to celebrate student achievement at Point Park University.

Scott Swain was on hand to honor the 2025 recipients of the Don Kelly and Anna Shields Student-Athlete of the Year awards.
Jared Campbell of the Point Park baseball team was honored as the Don Kelly Student-Athlete of the Year, while
Emma Pavelek was voted the Anna Shields Student-Athlete of the Year.
"We are thrilled with the performance of our student-athletes not only in competition, but also in the classroom and in the community," said VP of Athletics
Scott Swain. "To see many of our student-athletes being honored by different areas of campus during the OSA Awards is a testament to not only their hard work, but for the resources being offered by our institution and our dedicated faculty and staff."
Campbell, a senior from Sunrise, Florida, is leading Point Park this spring batting .397 with 12 home runs and 43 runs batted in. Following play over the weekend, Cambell has a .779 slugging percentage with 47 runs scored, 12 doubles and one triple. He also has nine stolen bases on the year. Campbell currently ranks third in the league in batting average, second in home runs, first in slugging percentage and third in RBIs.
Pavelek, a senior from Beaver, Pa., is a standout on the women's track and field and basketball teams for the Pioneers. Pavelek won the MEC Championship in the high jump during indoor season, becoming a three-time conference champion in the event. She is also a school record holder in the event and a three-time All-American. On the court, Pavelek averaged 10.4 points and 3.4 rebounds for the Pioneers, while also earning CSC Academic All-District honors in women's basketball. She is earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, Advertising and Social Media from Point Park.
In addition to the Student-Athlete of the Year Awards, several student-athletes and sports comm club members were recognized for their work in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.
