BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Point Park University had 82 student-athletes earn academic recognition from the Mountain East Conference with the announcement of the Winter and Spring 2025 Academic All-MEC Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll.
"In addition to our team GPA recognition earlier this month, we are pleased to recognize these 82 individuals that embody what it means to be a student-athlete," said Vice President of Athletics
Scott Swain. "Not only did these student-athletes excel in the classroom this spring, but they succeeded while also competing in the championship season of their respective sports. We are proud that these Pioneer student-athletes represent us every day."
MEC student-athletes qualify for the Academic All-MEC Team by earning a 3.70 to 4.00 grade-point average during the Spring 2025 semester. Student-athletes who earned a GPA between 3.25 to 3.69 qualified for the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The honorees include student-athletes from MEC winter and spring championship sports, including baseball, men's and women's basketball, softball and men's and women's track & field.
The Point Park women's track & field team led the department with 21 honorees, including 17 with a grade-point average of 3.70 or higher. Point Park baseball, the MEC's tournament champions in the sport, finished the semester with 18 honorees, followed by men's track & field with 15 and softball with 13. The women's basketball team had 10 recognized, while men's basketball added five honorees.
Of the 82 Point Park student-athletes that were recognized, 56 had a grade-point average of 3.70 or higher to earn Academic All-MEC recognition.
League-wide, 1,560 MEC student-athletes earned recognition on the Academic All-MEC Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll, including 902 with a GPA of 3.70 or higher.
