CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Point Park men's golf freshman
Milo Thim shot five-under par at the UC Invitational on Monday and Tuesday to take first place in the 54-hole event at Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston.
Thim opened the tournament by shooting three-under 67 in the first and second round, both played on Monday morning and afternoon. On Tuesday, Thim added four shots to finish at one-over par 71. On the individual leaderboard, he edged Wilmington's Noah Wallace (-4) for medalist honors at the event. Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen took third at two-under for the tournament.
Anthony Maltony finished in 36
th place for Point Park at +12 (76, 72, 74) in the tournament, while
Joshua Topper finished +17 (75, 77, 75).
Tharcisse Kalinda (+28 - 85, 80, 73) and
Kaiden Kohler (+39 - 85, 81, 83) rounded out the Pioneer lineup at the event.
The Pioneers finished in 12th place out of 20 teams at the event.
On the women's side, Point Park's
Gabi Wait (+40) and
Marissa Moriconi (+41) finished 72
nd and 74
th, respectively, at the event, as the duo played as individuals in the two-round invitational played at Edgewood Country Club across town. Wait shot +19 and +21 over the two days, while Moriconi shot +20 and +21.
The Point Park men's golf team will return to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational hosted by Davis & Elkins at Stonewall Resort in West Virginia. Meanwhile, the PPU women will travel to the Saint Vincent Invitational on Monday at the Latrobe Country Club.
