ROANOKE, W.Va. – The Point Park men's golf team turned in an eighth-place finish at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational hosted by the University of Charleston on Monday and Tuesday. The three-round event was played at Stonewall Resort in central West Virginia.
Milo Thim led the Pioneers with a three-over par in the tournament, finishing second on the individual leaderboard. He shot +1 in the opening round, followed by a one-under par in the second round. He wrapped up play at +3 on Tuesday afternoon.
For the tournament, Thim finished with seven birdies and an eagle on hole-five during the second round.
Joshua Topper (+19) and
Tharcisse Kalinda (+22) finished in the Top 50 as well, placing 41
st and 47
th, respectively for the Pioneers.
West Virginia Tech's Sean Cooper took first place in the tournament with a +1 over the three rounds. Glenville State topped the team leaderboard at +20, followed by Fairmont State (+28) and Bluefield State (+36) in the top three.
The Pioneers will return to action on Monday, Sept. 22 at the Hannastown Invitational hosted by California (PA).
