Point Park Wins Four-Setter at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. – Nicole Reasbeck recorded 17 kills and 10 digs to lead Point Park to a 3-1 win over Frostburg State on Tuesday evening at Bobcat Arena. The junior transfer recorded 17 kills compared to seven errors on her 37 total attacks in the win (.270 hitting).
 
In the match, Point Park grabbed the first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-17, before dropping set three, 25-15. Point Park wrapped up the victory with a 25-23 win in set four. The Pioneers recorded six of the final seven points in the fourth set, including two kills from Reasbeck and the match-clincher from Alex Koontz.
 
Statistically, Frostburg State outhit Point Park, .183-to-.130. The Bobcats also held a 7-4 advantage in total blocks.
 
Point Park recorded 12 aces from the service line.
 
In addition to Reasbeck's big day, the Pioneers also got nine kills and a team-high 15 digs from Avery Budrys Rini and eight kills and nine digs from Koontz. Marianna Oyola-Rivera passed out a team-high 36 assists to lead the Pioneer offensive attack.
 
Reasbeck, Budrys Rini and Lily Marchand each recorded three aces in the match.
 
Frostburg State was led by Devin Brunk with nine kills. Paige Mack filled the stat sheet for the Bobcats with seven kills, four blocks and two aces.
 
Point Park (3-9, 2-0 MEC) will remain on the road on Friday to face Wheeling University. The match is set for a 7 p.m. first serve from the West Virginia panhandle.
