FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Point Park fell to Fairmont State on Friday in three sets to open a three-match weekend. The Pioneers dropped to 2-11 (1-4 MEC) with the result.

Point Park fell 25-21, 25-12 and 25-17 in the three sets. The Pioneers were able to rattle off 3 consecutive points late in the first set to make it 20-19, but their comeback bid ultimately fell short.Â

Nicole Reasbeck led the match with her 11 kills, putting her into triple digits on the campaign. Reasbeck also chipped in five digs, good for third on the team. Marianna Oyola-Rivera tallied a team-best 15 assists and seven digs. Oyola-Rivera finished second only to Mia Arndt in digs, as Arndt led the match with 19.

The Pioneers were out-killed 44-26 by Fairmont State (16-4, 5-0 MEC), and they posted a 0.028 attack rate compared to 0.286 from the Falcons. FSU out-blocked PPU 10-9, with Amiera Smith's four blocks leading the Pioneers. Ece Cetin and Viktoria Zelubowski both added in three total blocks, with Zelubowski recording the team's lone solo block.

Point Park is set for two matches on Saturday in the PSU Harrisburg Tri-Match in Middletown, Pa. The Pioneers will take on Cairn at 1 p.m. and PSU Harrisburg at 3.
