MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Point Park track & field tallied 11 top-five finishes on Saturday's WVU Last Chance Open to close the 2026 season. The Pioneers tallied nine podium finishes over the eight events.

Jana Schmid posted two top-two finishes on the day, taking first place in the 5,000m and second in the 400m. Schmid, who graduated from Point Park on Friday, posted a time of 19:12.21 in her 5,000m win and recorded a time of 1:00.74 in the 400m.Â

Joshua Maurer and Chase Bowen captured wins for the men's team. Maurer's time of 2:00.45 was good for first place in the 800m, and Bowen finished the 1,500m in 4:00.66. Alana Dyce-Giraud was the fourth Pioneer to record a win in her event, thanks to her 5:10.71 time in the 1,500m.

Three Pioneers earned podium finishes in the 5,000m with Kiyara Sawyers and Daniel Sanchis taking second place in their respective races. Sawyers posted a time of 20:34.17, and Sanchis notched a time of 16:06.51. Sanchis finished just ahead of his teammate Albin Petschauer, whose time of 16:08.05 was good for third place.Â

Aubrey Smith took third place in the 800m on Saturday. Smith finished with a time of 2:15.78 - just shy of her third-best time in Pioneer history (2:15.51).Â

Paige Marnell and Lotte Zethof both recorded top-five finishes in the 400m. Marnell took fourth place with her time of 1:01.76, and Zethof, who also graduated on Friday, set a time of 1:01.79 en route to her fifth-place finish.Â
