FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Point Park's Luke McKenna was named Mountain East Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the MEC announced on Monday.

McKenna, a senior from Lexington, S.C., took first place at the Kutztown DII/DIII Challenge on Saturday, leading the Pioneer men's team to a first-place finish as a unit. He finished the 8K in 25:42.1 - 16 seconds better than second place.

McKenna's victory came in Point Park's first race of the 2026 season after the scheduled season opener at West Liberty was canceled due to weather. Point Park will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 25, at the NCAA DII Atlantic Region Preview Meet in Kernersville, N.C. in an 8K.
