PITTSBURGH -- Point Park men's soccer bagged two goals in the final three minutes to draw with California (PA) on Wednesday night at F.N.B. Stadium. Nikolas Suarez scored with exactly three minutes left on the clock, and Hector Moreno slotted home a penalty with 37 seconds left to force the 2-2 result.

After surrendering goals in the 14th and 78th minutes to Ryan Moessner and Brayden Alvarez, Suarez ripped a shot off his left foot past Cal goalkeeper Justin Brink to bring Point Park (2-3-2, 1-2-0 MEC) within one. Then Brayden Alvarez, one of Cal's goalscorers, took a handball inside the box allowing Hector Moreno, Point Park's leader in goals and points, to tuck home the tying goal from the penalty spot.

Point Park was edged in the shot department by Cal, with the Vulcans totaling 14 to the Pioneers' 12. Both teams finished with three shots on goal. Pioneer goalkeeper Anthony Fusay and Justin Brink of Cal each recorded a save.

Lorenzo Grispello led the team with three shots and tied with Suarez and Moreno for a team-best one shot on goal. Moreno finished with two shots, his first being a free kick that hit off the left post, and Suarez, Guilherme Galvao, Edouard Gagnon, Gianfranco Arguello, Luca Alessandro Ferraro, Rocco Domenighini and Gabriel Okita all posting a shot.

Brayden Alvarez of Cal U led the game with four total shots and tied for the game high in shots on goal with two.

Point Park closes out a three-game streak in the Steel City on Sunday in a matchup against Frostburg State. Opening kick in this MEC matchup will be at 3:30 p.m. from Rooney Field on the campus of Duquesne University.
