Point Park men's golf beats Grove City in dual match at Quicksviler

MIDWAY, Pa. -- Point University men's golf came out on top in a dual match versus Grove City College on Friday at Quicksilver Golf Club.

It was a team effort as the Pioneers won by three strokes. Each team had nine players play 18 holes, and the top seven scores on each team were counted toward the team total.

The Pioneers had a team score of 593, and Grove City had 596. It was a very windy and tough scoring day at the challenging layout that Quicksilver poses.

Freshman Gino DiPardo shot 81 for the low round on the Point Park team. Steven Bender and Kevin Loutsenhizer were next with 84. Max Kaminsky and Gage Basiletti each shot 85.

Nick Finoli turned in an 86, and Jared Bender shot 88 for the final score taken toward the team total.

Point Park will get right back into action this weekend, April 2-3 at the Ohio Wesleyan Strimer Memorial Invitational at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio, with 18 holes each day.
