PITTSBURGH – The Point Park men's and women's golf teams are set to compete at this week's Mountain East Conference Golf Championships. The event is slated for Monday through Wednesday at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, West Virginia.
The event features 54-hole, stroke play, with the top six teams advancing to the third round on Wednesday. Additionally, the top three individuals not with an advancing team will advance to day three.
The men's championship is a par-72, 7,151 yards (black tee markers). The women's championship is a par-72, 6,001 yards (white tee markers).
The Pioneer men have been led this season by freshman
Milo Thim. Thim has placed sixth or better at every event this season, headlined by his first-palce finish at the UC Invitational. He also finished second at the Wally Edgell Invitational, third at the Wheeling Invitational, and sixth at the Hannastown Invitational.
Thim was named MEC Golfer of the Week back on Sept. 10.
The Point Park women will have a duo competing as individuals at this year's championship, including senior
Marissa Moriconi and sophomore
Gabi Wait. Wait finished 10
th at the Saint Vincent Invitational to highlight her year, while Moriconi took 14
th at the Vulcan Invitational to record her best finish of the fall.
