Point Park junior Max Kaminsky shot 70-78-75 to place T7th at the NCAA DII Cal U Vulcan Invitational.

BELLE VERNON, Pa. -- In the midst of a tournament field consisting of 12 NCAA Division II schools, it was junior Max Kaminsky who led the way for Point Park University with a strong showing of tied for seventh place individually at the Cal U Vulcan Invitational.
In the team standings, Point Park placed 10th of 13 schools in what was a very challenging field. The tournament was held Sept. 5-6 at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon, Pa. There were 36 holes played on Monday and a final round of 18 on Tuesday.
The Pioneers opened up with a team score of 299 in the first round to position themselves three shots off the lead. It was a very crowded and bunched-up leaderboard after day one, and Point Park found itself as one of four teams tied for sixth place after a team score of 307 in the second 18 holes.
Point Park posted a score of 313 in Tuesday's final round to fall back to 10th place.
Kaminsky shot a first-round 70 to place among the leaders after 18 holes. After a 78 in round two, he came back with a solid round of 75 to secure a spot in the top 10.
Point Park sophomore Gino DiPardo was in fourth place individually after 36 holes after he opened up with rounds of 75 and 71 on Monday. He closed with an 81 for 24th place.
Sophomore Gage Basiletti posted three rounds in the 70s at 76-78-79. Sophomores Rafael Perez (80-77-80) and Jared Bender (85-89-78) were the other competitors for the Pioneers.
