CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Point Park University baseball senior pitcher Nolan Krivijanski had a start that he will always remember on Saturday. Krivijanski tossed a perfect game in a 1-0 victory at Cincinnati Christian University, the first game of a River States Conference weekend series.
Krivijanski, a right-hander from West Mifflin, Pa., and a graduate of Central Catholic High School, blanked CCU on no hits, no runs and no walks, and his defense had errorless play behind him. He retired all 21 batters he faced in the seven-inning complete game. There were 13 groundball outs, and he collected two strikeouts.
The lone run of the series opener came in the fourth inning when Cole Johnson delivered an RBI single with two outs. Emmanuel Lopez had walked and stolen second earlier in the frame.
Point Park won the second game of the doubleheader as well by a final score of 6-1. Nicholas Beardsley pitched a complete game to get the victory. The bullpen was not needed in either of the first two games of the series as Krivijanski and Beardsley gave up just one run combined.
