GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Point Park University women's golf claimed second place at the Grove City Invitational on Saturday, and it was Priscilla Nevarez leading the way for the Pioneers by taking medalist honors.
Nevarez fired a score of 90 to win the individual title at the tournament, which was held at Grove City Country Club and played in cold temparatures. Nevarez posted a one-shot victory over Samm Firestone (91) of St. Vincent and Christan Bowshier (91) of Claion. There were only four players who broke 100 in the event.
The Pioneers had a team score of 401, which included Lindsey Swanson at 101, Emily Madden at 103 and Ellie Shaw at 107. St. Vincent won the team title with a score of 373. After Point Park at 401, Grove City was next at 427 followed by Clarion at 440.
