PIPPA PASSES, Ky. -- Rushan Roberts scored a career-high 24 points, and Daniel King put in 22, but Point Park University came up short at Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College, losing 104-86, in a River States Conference men's basketball road game this past Saturday.
Roberts, a senior from Pittsburgh, drained a career-high seven treys in eight attempts in the losing effort. He also came up with eight rebounds and six steals to lead the Pioneers' effort in their second road game in a three-day span.
Point Park was within nine points at the half, 48-39. But Alice Lloyd won the second half by nine points as well, 56-47, to register the victory.
The Pioneers shot 47 percent from long range (11 for 23), but Alice Lloyd had the edge overall in shooting with 53 percent from the field. Point Park shot 39 percent overall. The Eagles added 10 3-pointers of their own and held a big rebounding edge. Both teams had high turnovers with Alice Lloyd 19 and Point Park 18.
Fousseini Konate added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Asim Pleas totaled 13 points and five boards for the Pioneers before both fouling out.
The Eagles had five players in double digits led by Jake Allen (24 points, 9 rebounds) and Dondre Warren (15 points, 9 rebounds) on the inside and Blake Smith (19 points) and Austin Crips (14 points) from the guards.
The Pioneers play another tough road game Tuesday, Jan. 30 at No. 2-ranked IU East (22-2, 11-0 RSC).
