PITTSBURGH -- In between weeks of the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, we take a look at where the Point Park University Pioneers stack up in another set of national rankings. The Pioneers come in this week ranked No. 15 in the Perfect Game College Baseball Top 25, which is conducted by the college baseball website PerfectGame.com.
The Pioneers (29-2) moved up one spot from being No. 16 in last week's PG Top 25 Poll. This after a 4-0 showing with a 13-3 win over non-conference Penn State-Greater Allegheny followed by a River States Conference series sweep over Rio Grande of three games on the weekend. Point Park was ranked No. 14 in last week's NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, its highest ranking of the season. That poll comes out every two weeks with the next set of ratings from the coaches being April 17. Point Park has been ranked every week of the regular season.
The Pioneers were the featured team in last week's PG College Baseball Top 25 Poll (April 4). The Pioneers took the focus with their strong record, in particular with the topic of strength of schedule. The Perfect Game rankings are compiled by Nick Herfordt of @PGCollegeBall, and he had this Tweet:
