STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Point Park University men's basketball is headed to Long Island. The Pioneers will travel to play at Stony Brook (N.Y.) University on Tuesday, Dec. 15. Tipoff is 1 p.m. at Island Federal Arena for the next NCAA Division I challenge on the schedule.
Point Park (0-4) accepted the invitation from the Sea Wolves, who will be the fourth NCAA DI opponent for the Pioneers in a row. The NAIA Pioneers are challenging themselves playing up a couple of levels with River States Conference games this month postponed until January.

The Pioneers are coming off a loss at Youngstown State on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Before that, they played at Robert Morris (Pa.) on Dec. 5. and at Kent State on Dec. 2. Point Park has absorbed losses each time and are still searching for their first win of the season, but they welcome the opportunity to travel to New York City for the upcoming matchup.
Stony Brook is 1-3 overall on the season entering its game at Bryant (R.I.) on Saturday, Dec. 12. The Sea Wolves are coming off of losses at St. John's and Hofstra. Stony Brook was 20-13 last year and made the America East semifinals under then-first year head coach Geno Ford.
The Sea Wolves have four starters averaging in double figures through the first four games. Three of those starters transferred into the program this year while the other two starters transferred in last year. Guard Frankie Policelli is averaging a team-high 13.8 ppg in his second year since coming over from Dayton. Jaden Sayles, a 6-9 forward, is next in scoring at 11.5 ppg in his first year since transferring from Akron.
