FLORENCE, Ind. -- Point Park University stands in 10th place after round one of the River States Conference Men's Golf Fall Preview, which started Monday, Sept. 28 at Belterra Golf Club in Florence, Ind. The final round is Tuesday, Sept. 29 starting at 8:00 a.m. ET.

The Pioneers shot a team score of 346 over the first 18 holes. Point Park got ahead of Oakland City (Ind.) University at the end of the first round and will need to make up some ground to catch the next group of schools and climb the leaderboard on Tuesday.

Alex Smith shot an 81 to lead Point Park. He had a strong opening nine holes as he went out in even-par 36. That included one birdie and one bogey as the Pioneers started out on No. 10. On the day, Smith posted nine pars and his birdie at the 193-yard par 3 No. 12 hole.

Anthony Santilli and Greg Fedor both shot 88 with identical nine-hole scores of 44 on each side. Matt D'Amico shot 89 with a 42 on his second nine. Anthony Savarino posted a 90 after shooting 45 on the back and front. Tyler Hilliard competed as an individual as well.
