Box Score Point Park University Men's Basketball (16-5, 7-3 RSC) is on the road this weekend for a pair of River States Conference East-West Divisional crossover games. The Pioneers are at St. Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) College on Thursday, Jan. 26, and they continue the road trip on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Indiana University Kokomo.
Point Park had its five-game win streak snapped in the last contest, a road loss at IU East in four overtimes last Saturday, Jan. 21 by a score of 108-103. This trip finishes up the matchups versus the RSC West Division the final five games remaining after this being the second lap around the RSC East Division for the Pioneers.

The Skinny: The Pioneers take on a perennial favorite in the RSC and the RSC West Division leader. The Cougars are always NAIA national tournament contenders. Point Park has lose four in a row to IUK.

ON THE PIONEERS:
Point Park is in its first year under new head coach Kevin Reynolds. The Pioneers are off to their best start in over a decade and they had their fourth-best showing through 20 games (16-4) in team history before losing the last game in 4OT at IU East. Point Park forges ahead looking for their first 20-win season since 2006-07 and just the seventh one in the over 50-year history of the program.
Point Park figures highly in the NAIA statistical categories when it comes to defense and rebounding. The Pioneers lead the country in rebounds per game (48 rpg) and rebound margin (+14 rpg). Point Park is also in the top 10 nationally for field-goal defense and in the top 15 for scoring defense and 3-point field-goal defense.
Offensively, the Pioneers bring four starters in double figures with Jo Valrie, Jalen Stamps, Cyrie Coates and Sherron Schifino along with 7-1 center Jags Jhawar providing an underneath presence on both ends.
