Box Score

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University men's basketball head coach Kevin Reynolds has the Pioneers off to their best start in many years at 13-4, and this past weekend he earned a personal milestone as well.

With the two home victories last Thursday and Friday, Jan. 5-6 over Midway (Ky.) and IU Southeast, Reynolds went over the 200-career win mark. In his first season at Point Park, Reynolds now stands at 201-113 in this his 11th year as a college head coach.

Reynolds earned his first 188 victories at Slippery Rock, an NCAA Division II program. He coached The Rock for 10 years from 2008 to 2018. Now in his first year at Point Park, he has the Pioneers on track for the same trend where he averaged 18.8 wins per season for SRU.

Point Park has won seven of its last eight games since December 1. That puts Reynolds career winning percentage at .640.

The Pioneers have bought into a new style that is paying off in wins and losses and showing itself in the stats. Point Park ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in rebounds per game, is second in the country for rebound margin and ranks 10th nationally in opponent field-goal percentage. The Pioneers also rank 15th in the country for scoring defense and Top 25 overall for 3-point field-goal defense. Point Park also has four double-digit scorers in the lineup.
