MIDWAY, Ky. -- Jalen Stamps scored 29 points and Jamisen Smith had 23 to power (RV) Point Park University men's basketball to an 87-69 victory at Midway (Ky.) University on Thursday.

The Pioneers (14-0, 4-0 RSC) remained as one of just three unbeaten teams in the NAIA along with No. 1 Grace (Ind.) (14-0) and No. 2 Langston (Okla.) (12-0). Point Park and top-ranked Grace share the longest current win streak in the country.

Point Park got out to a 30-14 lead the first 10 minutes of the River States Conference matchup with Midway (4-7, 2-3 RSC).

The middle part of the game was much closer with the Eagles getting within 69-67 on a 3-pointer by Donnie Miller with just under 8 minutes left. But the Pioneers saved their best for last scoring the next 18 points in a row during crunch time to win going away.

Stamps led the flurry down stretch. He made 7 of 10 from beyond the arc with six of those 3-pointers coming in the second half. Point Park had 13 3-pointers as a team with eight of those in the second half.

Jordan Stowe also keyed the clinching run with all 13 of his points after halftime. He made 3 of 3 from the arc during the late surge to provide a big lift off the bench.

Smith made 3 of 5 from deep and like Stamps connected on 10 field goals on the night. Jags Jhawar had 16 points on an efficient 7 for 9 from the field by the 7-2 center.

Point Park had a 12-4 lead the first five minutes with several feeds inside to Jhawar for easy baskets. Smith connected from deep for a 23-9 lead at the 10:55 mark. Moments later, Point Park took its biggest lead of the first half, 30-14, on a trey by Stamps.

Then Midway got hot from the perimeter to pull within 30-25. Isaiah Ramey was the main culprit hitting three treys in the first half with Miller and Jalen Cincore delivering big ones as well.

That left the Pioneers clinging to a 37-35 lead at the break. Midway picked up right where it left off with Tim Fuller's 3-pointer to start the second half giving Midway its first lead. He hit another one the next possession, and the Pioneers had a game on their hands.

The lead changed hands several times in the next several minutes. Jo Valrie hit a jumper at the 13:23 mark for a 57-56 lead, and the Pioneers never trailed again. Stowe added a 3-pointer on top of that, and after a drive by Smith and a jumper by Stowe, Smith hit from deep for a 67-60 lead at the 10:25 mark.

Although Midway pulled within 69-67 on Miller's 3-pointer, the Eagles were held scoreless then next seven minutes. Meanwhile, the two-point lead went to 10 when Smith hit a jumper and Stamps followed with a pair of treys to provide the knockout blow, 77-67. Stowe piled on top with another trey, and Stamps did the same for good measure.

The Pioneers had 50 points the second half to secure the win. They shot 53 percent for the game and held Midway to 38 percent. Point Park led in rebounds, 48-32, but lost the turnovers, 13-6.
