PITTSBURGH – Point Park dropped an MEC Matchup against West Virginia State in three sets on Saturday afternoon at the Student Center Gym.
In the matchup, West Virginia State took the first set 25-12 then followed up with a 25-21 and 25-16 second and third set to take the match 3-0 over the Pioneers.

Elise Wallace each contributed with nine assists.

Mia Arndt had 10 digs in the match to round out the statistical leaders for Point Park.
West Virginia hit .359 in the match while Point Park hit .023. The Yellow Jackets also outnumbered the Pioneers in blocks 8-2.
The Pioneers drop to 5-15 overall and 3-7 in Mountain East Conference play while West Virginia State moves to 14-9 overall and 8-1 in MEC play.
Point Park will be back on the road on Tuesday at Frostburg State for the third meeting of the year for the two teams. Frostburg took match one 3-2 at the Vulcan Invitational back on September 13th while the Pioneers took match two 3-1 on October 1st in Pittsburgh. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Frostburg, Maryland.
