FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State won its third-consecutive match with a 3-0 win over Point Park on Tuesday evening in Mountain East Conference play at Bobcat Arena (25-20, 25-15, 25-17).
With the loss, Point Park falls to 5-16 overall and 3-7 in MEC play. Frostburg State improved to 9-14 overall and 3-8 in league play.
The Pioneers struggled on the attack, finishing the match with 24 kills, 22 errors and a .020 hitting percentage. FSU hit .238 with 37 kills compared to 13 errors.
Frostburg State also held a 7-3 advantage in blocks and an 8-4 edge in service aces.
Eden McElhaney finished the evening with five kills, while
Rachele Tessari,
Giulia Follador and
Mariah Perez recorded four kills apiece for the Pioneers.
Elise Wallace passed out 16 assists.
Defensively,
Mia Arndt (11) and Follador (10) reached double-digit digs for Point Park.
Dani Kunkle recorded a match-high 14 kills to lead Frostburg State on the evening. Emery Kuebler passed out 16 assists.
Point Park will travel across town for a non-conference matchup against Carnegie Mellon on Thursday evening. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
