BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan picked up a 3-0 victory over Point Park (25-10, 26-24, 25-18) on Friday evening in Mountain East Conference action at the Rockefeller Center.
With the victory, the Bobcats improved to 13-12 overall and 3-9 in MEC play. Point Park fell to 5-18 overall and 3-9 in league play.
West Virginia Wesleyan hit .222 in the victory and held a 10-1 advantage in services aces. Point Park held a 7-5 edge in total blocks.
Ana Baruh Krstic recorded a team-high eight kills for Point Park, while
Eden McElhaney chipped in six.
Sara Faith finished the evening with four kills and a team-high three blocks.
Elise Wallace passed out a team-high 10 assists.
Defensively,
Rachele Tessari led the Pioneers with seven digs.
West Virginia Wesleyan was led by 10 kills from Emily Denison. Bhrooke Axe and Alauna Wilson recorded eight kills apiece.
Point Park will return home on Monday evening to take on West Liberty in MEC play. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
