Point Park Returns to Action with MEC Matchup at Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Point Park men's basketball team will resume Mountain East Conference play on Wednesday night against the University of Charleston at the Wehrle Innovation Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from West Virginia.
 
Storylines
  • Point Park comes into the new year with an 8-4 overall record and currently sits 3-3 in conference play. Point Park last played back on December 20th against Penn State Shenango.
  • Against Penn State Shenango the Pioneers dropped 118 points with five players scoring in double-digits. Brenden Williams led Point Park with a double-double featuring 20 points to lead all scorers along with 10 boards. Nazareth Fisher had another huge double-double pulling down 18 boards along with 16 points. As a team the Pioneers shot 52.7 percent from the floor.
  • Point Park's defense is currently ranked first in the MEC as they giving up 73.8 points per game.
  • Nazareth Fisher remains ranked first in rebounding as Fisher is pulling down 11.8 rebounds per game. Kaden Warner is currently ranked seventh in scoring as the transfer from Rio Grande is averaging 17.8 points per game.
 
Scouting University of Charleston
  • Charleston returns to the court having last played back on December 14 against Wheeling University where the Golden Eagles came out with a 103-94 win.
  • Following the win, Charleston comes into 2025 with a 6-5 overall record and 4-2 in MEC play. Charleston currently sits third in the MEC behind West Liberty and Fairmont State.
  • As a team Charleston is averaging 84.8 points per game on .482 shooting with CJ Meredith leading the Golden Eagles with 18.4 points per game.
