Women's Soccer Hosts Glenville State on Sunday Afternoon

PITTSBURGH – The Point Park women's soccer team will host Glenville State at Highmark Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Pittsburgh.

Storylines
  • The Pioneers returned to Pittsburgh at 5-2-1 overall and 4-1 in MEC play following a 4-3 victory over Davis & Elkins. Against the Senators, all four of Point Park's goals came in the first 20 minutes of the matchup.
  • Rebecca Pihlgren scored her sixth goal of the season which ranks first in the entire Mountain East Conference. Pihlgren has scored five goals over the Pioneers last five matchups to lead Point Park on the offensive attack.
  • Point Park is ranked in the top five for every offensive category in the MEC statistics. The Pioneers are fourth in shots (7.13 per game), second in points (8.38 per game), second in goals (26), and third in assists (15).
  • Last year at Glenville State, Point Park drew a 2-2 draw with the Glenville State Pioneers. Point Park tied the matchup in the 85th minute on a late goal to earn the draw. Glenville State outshot the Pioneers 16-5 in the contest.
  • Keeper Frederieke Rijlaarsdam is top 10 in multiple statistically categories in the Mountain East. The graduate student from The Netherlands is fifth in the conference in goals against average, third in the conference in saves and sixth in the conference in saves per game.
