Point Park Looks for Season Sweep Against Frostburg State

PITTSBURGH – The Point Park women's soccer team is back on the road this weekend as the Pioneers travel to Frostburg State to take on the Bobcats at Bobcat Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Maryland.

Storylines
  • The Pioneers are coming off a 2-0 loss to Fairmont State on Wednesday night and currently sit at 6-6-2 overall record and a 5-5-1 in the Mountain East Conference.
  • Against Fairmont State, Point Park was held to just six shots with two coming on goal. The Pioneers held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks while goalkeeper Frederieke Rijlaarsdam made six saves in goal.
  • The Frostburg State Bobcats are coming into the matchup with an 8-4-2 overall record and a 6-3-2 record in league play. The Bobcats are currently on a two-game win streak picking up a 2-0 win against West Virginia Wesleyan and a 2-0 win against West Liberty.
  • In the first meeting between Point Park and Frostburg State this year, the Pioneers got the 2-1 win on Homecoming Weekend at Highmark Stadium. Jurnee Durrett-Finney (36th minute) and Rebecca Pihlgren (55th minute) had the two goals for the Pioneers. The Bobcats escaped the shutout as Carly Gillette found the back of the net in the 74th minute.
  • In MEC North Division standings, Point Park currently sits in third place behind Frostburg State who is second in the division with 20 points.
