CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kent. – Thomas More scored four second-half goals to pull away for a 5-0 win over Point Park men's soccer on Sunday afternoon at Republic Bank Field.
With the loss, Point Park falls to 4-5 on the year, including just 2-5 in road games. Thomas More is now 4-4-1 on the year.
The Saints took a 1-0 lead at halftime following Will Fox's goal in the 39
th minute.
After halftime, Thomas More had four more goals scorers, including Remzi Termanini in the 58
th minute, Julen Van Egmond in the 67
th minute, Nick Phyllis in the 80
th minute, and Rodrigo Sanchez-Mendez in the 88
th minute.
Thomas More had a 9-4 advantage in on-target shots in the win. The Saints also had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Point Park's offense was led by two on-target shots apiece by
Lorenzo Grispello and
Lennard Schneider.
In goal,
Gregorio Capponi played the first 45 minutes, while
Gus Wytcherley occupied the Point Park goal in the second half.
Point Park will return home on Wednesday evening to host West Liberty. The 7:30 p.m. kickoff will be a White Out and Faculty & Staff Appreciation Game from Highmark Stadium.
