DANIELS, W.Va. – After entering day two in eighth place, the Point Park men's golf team dropped eight shots on Tuesday afternoon to make the cut for the final round of the 2025 Mountain East Conference Golf Championship, hosted this week at the Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.
After 36 holes, the league drops the field to six teams for the final round, which will include Glenville State (+20), Charleston (+22), Wheeling (+31), Fairmont State (+36), West Liberty (+38) and Point Park (+48).
Individually, Point Park's
Milo Thim sits in first place at the championship at one-under par for the tournament. He began play with a -2 on Monday, before shooting +1 in Tuesday's second round. Charleston's Pau Sanchez and Glenville State's Fermin Perez are sitting in second place at even-par after 36 holes. The top 10 players on the leaderboard are all within six shots of the Thim.
Through 36 holes, Thim has eight birdies.
Joshua Topper and
Tharcisse Kalinda are in 27
th and 29
th, respectively, for the Pioneers at +15 and +16 through 36 holes. Topper shot a +10 on Monday before improving his score by five shots in round two (+5). Kalinda opened play with a +13 on Monday and shaved off 10 shots in round two to finish at +3.
The Pioneers will tee off at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday in the final round of play at the MEC Championship.
In the women's tournament, Point Park's
Gabi Wait (+25, +26) and
Marissa Moriconi (+30, +24) finished 20
th and 21
st, respectively, to wrap up tournament play on Tuesday.
