FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Point Park dropped its final Mountain East Conference road match in straight sets on Tuesday evening at Fairmont State's Joe Retton Arena. The Falcons won the match by set scores of 25-18, 25-8 and 25-19.
Fairmont State, who currently sits in second place in the MEC North standings, hit .333 in Tuesday's match with 44 kills and just nine errors on 105 total attacks. Point Park hit .091 in the match (31 kills, 21 errors). The Falcons also held statistical advantages in aces (6-2), blocks (9-5) and digs (54-48).
Nicole Reasbeck led the Pioneers with 13 kills and 10 digs in the match.
Avery Budrys Rini chipped in eight kills.
Marianna Oyola-Rivera recorded a double-double from her setter position with 26 assists and 11 digs.
Lily Marchand also chipped in defensively with nine digs.
Patricia Calero-Irizarry led the Pioneers near the net with a team-high three blocks to go with four kills.
Joey Borelle and Josie Nobbe led the Falcons with 11 kills apiece.
Point Park will return home to host Salem on senior night this Friday at the Student Center. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
