PITTSBURGH – Point Park softball will return home to Pittsburgh for non-conference doubleheader against Salem University on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Park.
Point Park softball went 2-2 on the weekend splitting with MEC opponents Fairmont State and Frostburg State. The Pioneers are 8-12 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Point Park Notebook
- At home the Pioneers are 2-2 on the season picking up a sweep against Wheeling University back on March 15.
- Over the weekend the Pioneers plated 21 runs through four games. As a team Point Park batted .287 with an on base percentage of .364. The Pioneers pounded out 33 hits.
- Mia Arndt and Emma Henry had impressive weekends for the Pioneers each batting .500 or above with Arndt having eight hits while Henry had seven. The pair combined for five extra base hits over the weekend.
- Arndt is currently ranked fifth in the conference batting an impressive .446 to lead the Pioneers. Through 56 at-bats Arndt has hit a team leading 25 including eight doubles and two triples.
- On the pitching side, Jaylyn Mullenax continues her strong start to the season with a 2.31 ERA through 10 appearances. Mullenax has pitched nine complete games and currently sits at 5-5 on the year. Through 69.2 innings of work Mullenax has struck out 69 batters which is first in the Mountain East.
- Savannah Lee currently sits at 3-6 on the year with an ERA of 4.97 through 49.1 innings of work. Lee has started in nine games for the Pioneers with four of them being complete games.
- Point Park's pitching is ranked third in the Mountain East Conference behind Charleston and Glenville State. As a staff the Pioneers have a 3.72 ERA.
