BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Point Park men's golf team was voted 10
th in the 2025 Men's Golf Preseason Poll, the league office announced on Friday afternoon following a vote of the league's head coaches.
Point Park returns
Tharcisse Kalinda who finished 32
nd at last year's Mountain East Conference Spring Classic. Including Kalinda, the Pioneers go into the 2025-26 season with eight men. Point Park added newcomers
Anthony Maltony, Alexander Zinz, Elie Ben Natan, Cameron Huff, Kaiden Kohler, Milo Thim, and Joshua Topper.
The University of Charleston men's golf team is the Mountain East Conference preseason favorite. UC is coming off an MEC team title last season and received nine-first place votes from league head coaches.
Davis & Elkins finished second in the MEC preseason poll accumulating 67 points. The Senators won the NCAA Division II Atlantic/Each Regional title and represented the MEC, along with UC, in the NCAA field.
Following UC (81 points) and Davis & Elkins (67 points) atop the preseason poll, Glenville State is third with 55 points. The rest of the poll has Fairmont State and West Virginia Wesleyan tied for fourth, West Liberty in sixth, Concord in seventh, Wheeling in eighth, West Virginia State at ninth, and Point Park rounds out the polling in 10
th.
Point Park will open up the season at the Wheeling Invitational at the Belmont Hills Country Club in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday Sept. 4 through Friday Sept. 5 with both the men's and women's team competing.
